Staffordshire Early Years training

Gill is a regular visitor to Staffordshire providing training for Foundation Stage and for Key Stage 1. This photostory of Foundation Stage INSET shows delegates participating in some of the exciting activities explored during the day.







Puddles visits Carlisle Cathedral

In summer 2010, Gill provided INSET for Upperby Primary School, Carlisle. Whilst Gill trained the teachers, Freddie and Puddles visited the cathedral!

Puddle Ducks Day Nursery, Raglan


Puddle Ducks Day Nursery, Raglan, was one of the first nursery settings to trial our resources. We are most grateful to Julia Rennie, owner, her team of staff and the children for their enthusiastic and encouraging response in those early days of production. Here we see them enjoying The Tiny Ants.







Oak House Nursery School - Puddles Lends a Paw

Oak House Nursery, Brampton Abbotts is owned and managed by Sue Marshall, founder and director of Early Vision role-play resources. Sue is a big fan of the Puddles resources, and in this photostory the nursery children visit Brampton Abbotts church with Puddles, just prior to its permanent closure.








Llanfoist Primary School Reception Class with The Baby Birds


Our talented illustrator, Louise Gwillym works at Llanfoist Primary School in Monmouthshire. Here she enjoys usingThe Baby Birds resources with the reception class. The children are so proud to have the Books@Press illustrator as a member of staff!





RSPB Bird Watch


Pembroke Nursery enjoyed the RSPB bird watch scheme and included The Baby Birds resources to reflect the beliefs and culture element of the Foundation Phase curriculum. Their wonderful cross-curricular project is reflected in this photostory.




Puddles’ Amazing Adventure In Kenya



Puddles so was so excited when Lisa Wilkinson, RE Co-ordinator at Goytre Fawr Primary School offered to take her to Kenya on their school exchange visit.
Puddles enjoyed meeting the children of Kiraro Primary School and also the local vicar and members of the church.




Lancashire College


Gill was pleased to provide workshops at the recent Lancashire Primary RE Conference: Spirited RE – Knowing Me Knowing You. Delegates enjoyed a variety of stimulating and thought provoking workshops and were inspired by the keynote speech from Maggie Webster.




Books at Press Competition Winners Photostory



Congratulations to Rachel Davey from Baden Powell Primary School and Rachel Speed from St. Illtyd's Primary School who were the outstanding winners of the Celebrating RE / Books@Press competition. They were presented with their winners' certificates at the Welsh Association of SACREs Celebrating RE Launch on March 2nd 2011 in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan.

A Wedding Celebration and Book Signing at Longtown Primary School, Herefordshire


The pupils of Longtown Primary School enjoyed their own version of the Royal Wedding with a role-play Wedding Day Wish for Puddles.
Surrounded by friends and family 'Prince William' and 'Catherine' pledged their vows in the red, white and blue adorned grand marquee which took pride of place in the school grounds.
Whilst The Reverend Freddie Fisher played his part in the service, Puddles and Arthur kept a careful eye on the proceedings. They particularly enjoyed the sumptuous reception - especially the cream cakes.
Amidst the excitement and celebrations, parents and children chatted with the author and enjoyed having their own personal copies of the book signed by Gill.
